As my term as president of our affiliate comes to a close, I want, foremost, to thank all of our wonderful and dedicated volunteers and fellow board members for their service the last three years. An organization like NAMI does not function without people willing to give their time, talents and energy to our important work. We are truly helping people who live with mental illness, and their loved ones, to live better lives. I have been privileged, as president, to see that happening every day. Thank you so much, everyone!
I also want to welcome our new president, Jason Hopcus. I feel confident that our affiliate is in good hands with him at the helm for the next two years. Some of you may not know Jason, but he has been a member of our Board of Directors for the last year. He also sits on the Board of Directors of NAMI Colorado, he facilitates one of our affiliate Connection support groups, he is an In Our Own Voice presenter and he has been a member of our affiliate marketing/website committee for the last six months. He comes to the job with a lot of experience and knowledge about NAMI and we are grateful that he is willing to devote his time and energy to NAMI Arapahoe/Douglas Counties.
