Nami Walk

The NAMI Walk is now only three weeks away! The excitement is building as teams are forming, donations are happening, and people all over town are looking forward to another great Walk. Have you met Ned? Ned is the mascot for the 2015 NAMI Walk in Colorado. He is busy climbing Mt Stigma. Ned is a stigma buster and he knows that, working together, we can create a community of hope and recovery for all. Ned says, ““I know too many people who feel the burden of stigma around mental illness. If the stigma is too great, many won’t seek the treatment they need and deserve. We all need good health and that includes mental health. I want to show Colorado that stigma can be overcome.” You can read more about Ned at www.namicolorado.org. Along with Ned, NAMI Arapahoe/Douglas Counties will be walking to raise awareness in our community of the needs of people with mental disorders. We all know about stigma and the negative effects it has on recovery. Together we can stomp out stigma! Join us on Sat, May 16, 9am-1pm, for the NAMI Walk. Support our team, the NAMI Arapahoe/Douglas Advocates, at www.namiwalks.nami.org/namiadco2015.
