Last week, the NAMI Arapahoe/Douglas Counties Board of Directors got together for a holiday dinner and gift exchange. It was a great event that allowed us to spend some time catching up with one another. 2015 has been an incredible year for us at NAMI ADCO with new, improved and expanded programming. Those initiatives left little time for socialization among us. It also was the perfect opportunity to fully welcome our newest board members Julie Corbett and Jean Miller to the group.
We all spent some time enjoying each other’s company before the evenings festivities began. What a good time. Here are some memories of the night.
During this busy time of year, we all slowed down to reflect and enjoy good company and the festivities of the season. The event was a family style Asian theme served by John Holly’s Asian Bistro in Lone Tree. They did an excellent job providing a beautiful space, preparing delicious food and meeting our budget requirements. The service was outstanding, along with copious amounts of food, which seemed to ensure everyone went home full and satisfied.
Our holiday event would not have been complete without a gift exchange, I selected a variety of gifts that would leave everyone with something they could enjoy. I wrapped each gift myself to add to the spirit of the season. The exchange was a time of fun, laughter and celebration. Each person selected a gift and we opened them individually for the group.
Like the rest of our organization, the board is solely comprised of volunteers. Each person dedicates themselves tirelessly to the many efforts required to offer the quality programming we do. I personally would like to give each of them a round of applause for their generous on-going support. Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous 2016! See you in the New Year…
